In collaboration with Hale-Frame, Oriental Arts LLC was originally established 1982 in Burnsville, MN (outskirts of Minneapolis). Sales of Art and Framing were carried out in our own gallery at this location. Currently, art production and framing are from our Flagstaff homeshop and art sales have been done through conventions and art exhibitions thoughout the SouthWest. Our artist, Cynthia W. Hale, alias Wu T'ing, is well known in both areas and in Southern California. She specializes in Chinese paintings and French oils.

All work shown are originals but can be made available in more cost effective duplicates of, in standard or custom sizes:

More about Oriental Arts...

Classic Chinese Brush Painting commonly known in the West as Chinese water colors are done on many grades of Rice Paper. Using high quality Chinese paints (ground from colored stones), renders a painting which is highly durable, never fades or runs if wetted. Mounting of these paintings according to techniques developed over thousands of years is a specialized art and requires not only special training but years of apprenticeship to master. All of our Chinese paintings are mounted in this manner in our Frame Shop. Artist Cindy studied this for two years in the leading Academy under masters in Korea. Western framers cannot duplicate these techniques. However, due to average customer needs, we usually frame in their choice of materials but the mounting must be done in the old fashion way. In Minneapolis Oriental Arts made scrolls and paper screens for framers all over the world. These techniques were demonstrated at three Regional meetings of the PFFA (Professional Picture Framers Association) resulting in Oriental Arts recognition as authorities in this method.
